1992 evinrude 40hp full throttle

I have a 40hp evinrude model te40elenm. I just rebuilt both carbs now its hard to start when it does start it spits and smokes and cuts off several times. When it finaly warms up it will idle for about a min then goes full throttle and hangs there when i try to cut it off it wont turn off by the key. I have to pull the ground wire and the fuel line to get it to cut off and even then it takes a few mins to die out. Then when i start it back up it does the same thing all over again. Can anyone please help me im desperate?

it is doing this on it's own, no one is moving the throttle. is this correct?

Better check reassembly. You apparently have the throttle linkage incorrectly installed.

yes its doing it on its own. I rechecked assembly and from the what the instruction say everything is suppose to be right. I reset the floats and had to start it about a dozen times, when it finaly got warm enough to run it ran for about 5-7 mins with backfiring twice. Then it jumped into full throttle and hung there again, but this time all i had to do was turn key off to shut down the motor. This time it didnt smoke nearly as bad and during the 5-7 mins other then the 2 times it backfired it ran great.

I think I've fixed the full throttle problem although im not sure how. I took the cover off the wirie connectors and tightened the screws that connect the harnes. I then started the motor again and it over reved I pulled the emergency kill to kill the engine when i did i heard a click come from the engine so i restarted it and havnt had the problem since. Now the problem i have is when i ingage the throttle the motor will go into gear but it wont rev up and while its idleling its spitting and puttering any ideas on the new problem ?when i try to adjust the carbs useing the idle screws it makes no change at all. ive shut the idle scews completely off and the motor runs at the same idle speed and still spits and putters.
