3hp johnson 1954 jw-10 (broken exhaust)

I recently bought a seahorse with a broken exhaust port. the previous owner said he's used it for years that way and never had any problem. The break was jagged so I cut the extra off to even it all up. I was careful not to get it too hot. could this broken pc damage anything else.

I suppose you might have a tiny bit greater tendency to ventilate, but those "weedless" props are very hard to ventilate.

Looks like a servicable "modification" to me.

Very common on those old 3 hp's. Nothing to worry about. Use it as is.
