I'm installing a rectifier/regulator on a manual start F40. Is the following correct?

2 identical yellow wires go to the yellow connectors coming from the engine.
red wire goes to battery positive.
black wire gets bolted to engine, along with a black wire I will install from battery negative.

What about the gray wire? If I'm not installing a tach, is it OK to leave it unconnected to anything?

Thanks.

Yes, the gray wire is not needed if you don't have a tach.
