Fuel / Water Seperator

I need to install a water seperator on a carbureted 225 evinrude and was wanting to know the proper location. Should it be installed between the tank and the primer bulb or should it be between the primer bulb and the engine?

I just installed one from Sierra and it's on a 55hp. The Sierra one stated to install it between the tank and the primer bulb, so I did.

i prefer tank and primer bulb. also fill container with fuel when installing. it make priming much easier.
