Hi All ? Engine is a 2002 Mercury 115 HP 4 stroke - the one with Yamaha head. I use my boat year-round Each Fall/Winter when the temp drops below about 45 degrees upon startup the engine oil buzzer sounds. No unusual motor sounds accompany.

My technique is to turn off the motor, let it sit for about 2 minutes and restart. Upon restart there is no buzzer. If really cold it takes two run/off cycles to have the buzzer not go off upon startup. Never occurs once warmed up or in warmer weather.

Any ideas?

just a thought..i have the same engine but an 05...when changing the oil it calls for either 10w-30 or 25w -30....i'm not sure cause i dont have my manual in front of me..but one is for all temps the other is not recomended for the cooler temp ranges..

Rob, Thanks for the reply. In fact I use the lighter weight 10w-30 oil year round.

When you turn your key to on, do you get a momentarly buzzer sound to confirm the buzzer is working? I do not.
