I have a 1995 Merc. 175 EFI - coming in today it made a grinding type noise and stopped, no alarms. The flywheel will rotate back almost a full turn but forward it hits a solid stop. Any ideas???
Yes, quite often a pinion brg. will set a engine up, the differance is your turns back and forth till it hits something (probably the broken rod) and you can turn it back a half turn till it hits it again.
