Howdie,

I picked up a "Mariner 60" outboard a couple months ago and i am just trying to track down some more information about it.

How do you go about finding out what year the motor was produced etc?

The engine is a bit worn, but i am in the process of re-building it (big learning curve). I have today finished the re-wire and got it up and running, it was actually quite simple in the end.

All of the documents and manuals i have read so far, have shown this motor, or other mariner 60's with 3 spark plugs... The motor i have, only has two, other than that, most of the thigns in the documents match up.

Can i track down info on the motor using its serial number?

Thanks in advance

Post a pic or two of it on this site along with information you have (60HP, model/serial #, etc)

Folks on here will be able to find it. Post it to the Mercury Mariner Outboard section as the guys that follow those threads will be the most helpful. You'll find a great deal of information about your motor and anything else boating related on this forum.

Welcome to iboats.
