Old Motor ID help

Saved this little gem from the dump. Would like to tinker with it and get it going. Looking to first try to identify it to get a year, make, model.

Any thoughts. Only plates on it are faded. The one in the pic I can get the number off it as 1774. I tried to rub them to get the old serial numbers to show but no luck.

Any help would be great.

look at the plate at night in the dark with a flash light. some times things show that don't during the day.

With the help from a friend, this old motor is now up and running again. But, I still do not have an ID for it. Any thougths?

I'm pretty sure that's a 1960s era McCulloch 4hp model.

Agreed, a McCulloch. Not related to Clinton, Techumseh, Eska, Chrysler, West Bend, or any of that other air cooled stuff.
