I'm trying to find out what year my 9.8 mercury outboard motor with thunderbolt ignition is the serial # is 5641323 and what type of spark plug to use?

Hi,

Your serial number comes back to a 1980-1981, and the NGK Sparkplug look-up points to their plug B9HS-10.

Is this a new engine to you? How does she run?
