5.5 Water Pump

On my model 5518 do I need to use sealant on the water pump housing to bottom plate? Also there is no gasket when I dsassembled.

You should use sealant below the plate, but not between the plate and pump housing. No gasket where? There are no gaskets in/on the water pump.

Thanks FR I was looking at the service manual, it shows no gasket,other than the one under the bearing housing. I guess I was used to seeing one on my later model 40hp 1988. O ring style.
