I have a 80"s (can't seem to find year on motor) Evinrude 90 hp V4 VRO (VRO removed) motor will intermitently lose prime ball goes flat, engine dies I have replaced all fuel lines, removed tank checked pick up and vent lines all clear as well as tank.Replaced vented fuel cap..... sometimes it will run for hours with no problem then it starts,,,,,,,, ball implodes motor dies etc but it starts right back up this happens mostly under load seems to idle with no problem. If you pull the ball from the fuel line with motor running and put it back on this seems to fix thre problem but not the fix I'm looking for getting frustrated any suggestions would be appreciated

Have you checked your tank's anti-siphon valve? Sounds like that may be the culprit.

Simple problem, somthing down stream of the ball is pugging up or collapsing or the tank is not venting. I wish my issues were so simple. There could be someting driffting around inside the tank pluging the pickup.

Take a look

Did you try a different primer bulb? What size fuel line are you using? How far below the fuel pump is the bottom of the tank?

Re: losing prime getting frustrated

Might be something floating in the tank that gets to the pickup.

The vent on the outside of the boat has a screen that can get blocked by corrosion.
