i was helping someone try to start an old motor that, as usual, is new to him.

the serial # is C510380
40hp johnson super seahorse 2-cyl, with points ignition.

can anyone point me to the model # for this motor as its illegible on the bracket, and i need to find him a starter.

thanks

Try looking for the model number on a core plug on the block. Probably a number beginning RD, RDS or RK or maybe 40 if its 1969 or 1970s
