A equal hello to all!
Bought a 350 Mercruiser, and did find this aluminium tag glued on the block beside the waterpump.
Does anyone recognize who might be the remanufactuer that attatches this type of id plate on their rebuilt engines?

The tags I've come across are usually riveted on, with the manufacturer's or rebuilder's name.
Glued on tags, without a name can be slapped on by anyone.
I would question the engine being rebuilt.

Ayuh,...

And I never retag a motor when I rebuild it....

Why, other than curiosity, do you need to know,..??..??
It really means absolutely Nothing....
If you are needing any Parts,.. You need the Merc. serial # or none....
I imagine there are Thousands, maybe Millions of Rebuilders of SBCs in the world,...
What they did,+ what internal parts they used are pretty much irrevelant,..
Unless you're Doing internal Work,+ then you just Measure things,+ look around....

Cause there is no merc serial number/tag on the block.
according to the serial on the ignition module, and the carb (4bbl weber 9770sa) the engine might be a 92-95 5.7l Bravo, but would be nice to know exactly, so i could purchase the correct service/maintenance manual.

If it is a Mercruiser, the serial number tag should be on the block in the area of the starter.
Next, go to mortec.com to find the casting numbers on the block to find the year.

Ok, my bad!:D
Thank's for the welcoming.

By the way there was a cuople of worn barcode stickers on the bell housing, and on the one them read "mcm 5.7brv 457b11ohs"
what might it mean?

When i bought the engine and drive package, i was told that the drive where
a Alpha one. where on the web can i identify it with the help of the serial number on the drive 08892929, or 0B892929? (someone has done some lousy stamping..)

No merc tags, or any rivet holes around the starter

Mortec knew that the block was a
14093638...350...87-95...2 or 4...Roller or flat tappet cam, one-piece rear seal

Found a very baddly stamped number on the stb side near the headgasket
V0648cma, or something like that, cause was very difficult to figure it out.
Know what might that mean, cause i know that similar numbers are also found on car engines as well?

The bare metal block are all the same for autos and marine.

Maybe made in mexico. Casting # starboard side.

Maybe you will have to clean it good to see the #.

Weird!!! This serial number, '0B892929', comes up as a TR drive!
and '457B110HS' is a 5.7l Bravo drive engine, manufactured in 1995.

Check the number on the drive again... or take photos and post them...

Wait a minute, i fed some wrong info.
the drive # what i gave, was located on the gimbal house assembly, not the drive itself:redface:
Must take a closer look at the drive, if i can find any #'s there
