I put my boat in the shop to have it worked on and when I got it back it was in worst shape than when I put it in the shop. It was not running right. When I got it back the inline fuse was blown and a wire that run from the ground bolt on the starter to a part that looked like a selinoid or something was blistered from the wire getting hot. I worked on my motor and got it running fine But now it will not charge the battery. What could be wrong and how do I check the wiring to detemine what part is bad? OH by the way I will not carry it back to that marine shop! If interested the name of the shop in Anglers Marine on hwy 17 in Supply, NC

Test your rectifier. From what you have said it is probably blown.
