Default 87 Evinrude 60hp RPM's( revised question)

I need to know the max rpm's (red line) and the best WOT rpm's for this motor. I have 2 props for it, the stock prop 13 3/4 x 15 and a 13 1/4 x 17. The motor is a 1987 60 vro 3 cyl. Evinrude. Thanks..

Thanks for the reply but it still did not answer my question, so perhaps I should refrase it a bit. I would like to know first what the optimal performance rpm's ( for max h.p.) would be for this motor and second, what is the red line rpm so that I can mark it on my tach. I have access to several different sizes of props to try and I need this info to make a chart for the best performance for my boat. Thanks again for any help with this..

5500-5800 is the rpm range you should shoot for.

As for red-line, well there really isn't any such concept for our johnyrudes until you go waaaay beyond standard intakes and exhaust housings. Your carbs will fail to flow enough air and fuel before you run into any real mechanical trouble.

If you're truly worried, let's call it 7k.

Have fun with the props.

if you want your motor to last and give you great service, you want to prop your motor at the recommended rpms.
