Default Pontoon boat rail question

I'm in the middle of redoing my 1988 Starcraft pontoon and would like to raise the rail of the floor. I have seen that a lot of the newer pontoons are build that way, but I can not find the spacers. Does anyone know where to buy the spacers, or have a good idea what else to use?( may be 2 or 3 washers)?

This is something I am going to do the first chance that I get, (I think you mean to raise it "off" the floor). As it is with the bottom railing on the deck, it traps the water from rain, waves, and when washing, along with leaves, twigs, and other debris, and it is impossible to clean, or to hose off. I thought I would go to the hardware store, and to the extruded aluminum stock rack, and get a formed strip, and cut it into short lengths, and drill a hole for mounting bolts, to raise the bottom rail about one inch off of the deck.

I bought some type of synthetic wood at West Marinethat was 1/2" thick and can be cut and driled with normal wood tools. Used it to space up rail and put some strips under fuel tank to help it dry out a little better.

Newbie here, but I think I might have some info you can use.Aqua Patio uses a plastic spacer about 1/4" for raising their rails. It is formed to have a lip on each side of the rail and a hole for the hold down bolt. I just had my AP dealer order some for me to try. They were $.37 each, and had to be ordered from the factory. How they will work for me is yet to be seen.Charles
