It was 85 here yesterday. The weather man says dropping temps and rain for the next couple days.
I thought this may be the last good day this season.
The boats getting winterized and wrap up for its winter nap.
Had a great time, even went in for a swim...

Thought i would share some pics...

Gary

Looks like a perfect day but then again, are there really any BAD days in our boats on the water?

Really love the lines and look of that boat....You really need to keep that one.

Gary, Love that bold "Clipper ship" bow! Man, that thing is made to fend off some heavy water ;)

Yeah, nice looking boat! the bow reminds me of the bow shape of my boat, which I don't seem to see too often.

I love pics like this of my boat because of exactly what you said, you never get to see it from the outside.

Re: Perfect day on the water!

Thanks guys! That is some pics i can look at over the winter and drool....lol!(wishing it were summer).

Had the GF stay on the dock and shoot a few.Too bad i couldn't get a close up going by at full speed buts its a no wake zone and a bunch of wet slips.

The hull does take waves very well.I have been out in the main channel of the lake during some heavy winds looking for the biggest waves to see how it would do.I have yet to get any spray or water over the windshield.

Well,Fog it,change the lower lube, pull the battery and put the heavy tarp on this weekend......:(

That thought has entered my mind:D

Sure as i don't get it ready it will turn cold and rainy.
Glad its an outboard. If we have any more 80 degree days i may just have to fog it again...

Gary that is such a beautiful boat. I would never consider selling it. In the pictures of it on the trailer it looks really big and imposing and I could kinda see how maybe you'd like something smaller. But man in those on the water pics it just looks AWESOME. It looks fast and pretty nimble and not to mention Classy!!! Hang on to it and enjoy it. Now I want one :)

Re: Perfect day on the water!

Thanks ezmobee! It does look much better in the water..;)

I always thought that for its size it sets pretty high in the water.Even sitting still the boot stripe on the sides are out of the water.
It handles better than i thought it would for its size.I can do a very hard turn at full speed and never blow the prop out.
Its rated up to 300HP...man that would be nice! The 175 does a good job with it but an extra 100HP would be sweet!
I have my digital speedo adjusted pretty close to what the little hand held GPS reads.
On the speedo i hit 54 mph yesterday. Not sure how unrealistic that could be.
If i found a good deal on a bigger motor i would have to consider it.
Pretty much decided to keep it now...:p

OOOHH man gary , That thing is sweet !! and she is rated for 300 hp really ????
I have to ask the same Question why so early ?? Its 30's at night here but still getting up to the 60 in the days !!

54 with a 175hp you would be doing 80 with a 300hp on there !!

I really do like her , she is a sweet ride !! did you do a complete restro on her ?? john

Ps yep that sure is petty down there !!

Highs in the 50's here this weekend. What a change!

Thanks for the compliments guys.

John,Yes i did pretty much a complete restore.Lots of engine work, new transom, new wiring and electronics.replaced the lower unit.
The rear seats are new. They are deck chairs with rubber feet.I like them because i can move them around while fishing. They were expensive but well made and the Marlin logo matches the 2 front swivel seats.

These were pics when i first got it home,

Original front seats...

Looking back at the before pics, man its come a long way..
It took a week to redo all the teak wood...;)
I took it off one piece at a time, sanded it down and put about 10 coats of Golden Teak Oil on it..Its holding up well.I oil it every few months and its keeping good color.

That boat is a KEEPER! :D

Man I like it, and with a max rating of 300hp, you got room to grow.
