Hi,
My Merc 25 had an issue this weekend. The throttle control on the end of the tiller was slipping so I couldn't get it in reverse, then when going forward at WOT I could twist it further forward, then bring it to neutral, and then get it in reverse - but it kept slipping and creating the same problem over and over again. The good news is it is not the linkage as I can see it turn inside the sleave of the tiller (as well the connections in the engine working fine so I know its slipping at the handle)

Not finding any screws or fastners I tried pulling the "twist throttle" off trying to remove it and got it out 3"-4" but then realized I was pulling the wires connected to the stop button at the end of the tiller. Then I tried to slide the throttle grip back to where it is suppose to be the whole thing is now stripped and I can't go forward or reverse (or control the throttle for that matter) - just spins freely. Plus I have the stop button dangling with a couple of inches of wire still connected to it. Plan to get a owners manual but in the meantime if anyone can share any advise it would be much appreciated...
