I have two Evinrude 60hp powerheads,1988 and 1996.
Can anyone tell me if these will interchange with the 70hp motor and what years 70hp they will fit?
How did OMC get the extra HP?Was it bore and/or stroke or carbs?
I want to use one of my good 60 powerheads on a blown 70 if possible.

The easiest way to tell would be to use the link that TD provided.

1. Look at the powerhead to mid section mounting gasket, as a comparison.

2. Also, look at the driveshaft part numbers. There may be spline differences-not sure.

They are basically the same engine. The 70 turns a few more RPM's.
