Hi,
SN 0G104585
1994 Mariner 3.0L Carb 225

Left boat at house and had 6.5 feet of water. Back end of boat was under house and held under water. Put 2cycl oil in cylinders, drained bowls and have been turning w/ plugs out utill today. Just got carb kit and did carbs ( Salt sediment in carbs ). Got motor started but runs ruff. have not changed spark plugs yet but I did notice that all plugs on Port side look wet. All plugs on Starbord side are very dry.

Overheat alarm light blinks on/off right away and continues to do so.

Definently not running on all cylinders, could be fuel starved on starbord side since plugs are ALL dry.

Thanks in advance and look forward to your help.

Re: IKE Water & Mariner 225

After the salt water and sitting you will be very lucky if your engine lives with out a complete tear down. That said you need to start by a careful cleaning of a electrical connections and the rehooking them and coating with a anti corrosion product. Then try a restart and see if the problems have went away. Hopefully they have if not get back. You may as well know that anything electrical that is not cleaned and dried properly will fail in a short period of time, good luck with you project
