I have this thing and the other night after multiple pulls it just gave out....When pulled slow you can get compression but pull fast and boom! it starts to sound like a piece of metal ran through the vacuum whats going on? Could it just be the rope wheel thing or what?

Model number, please.

If it's one of the Eska-build ones, the problem is in the recoil starter. Take the cowling off and pull the starter rope. Those are well-known for breaking the teeth on the starter or the flywheel.

If it's one of the later Force-built ones, the starter is completely different.

So, give us the model number and we can help you. You can find it near the transom mount. It will start with 217 or 225.
