Hi Guy's Im new here. Son took the boat out for a spin and the oil line either
broke or came off. Being new to 2 cycles I need some how to about reinstalling the oil line on this year and hp. He thought it was a fuel or
ignition proplem and kept restarting the engine after it stopped in order to
get back to the dock. I know it dosen't sound good to me either but I have
my fingers crossed.

I would start by checking out your motor, compression check .
loose motion check. I would think the bearings would suffer greatly from no oil.As well as the rings and cylinder walls. Pull the plugs and see if will turn without any restrictions. Get back to let us know how it turns out.

Re: 115 92 merc oil line

Hamit I got down to the lake last Friday and all I could do was turn the flywheel since the boat is on a lift and I was under the sunpad in the motor
area. I could feel compression on all the cylinders and it looks as though the
oil line just came off of the the oil line fitting at the bottom of the oil tank but
I couldn't find any place where it would of been connected, as a matter of fact I didn't find a disconnected oil line either. Wish this boat would of had a trailer when I bought it. My son and I are going to push the toon out and pull
it in backwards and raise the lift to see if we can then get to the motor a little easier. I've been online and to the library trying to get info or just pics
that would help me out, but no luck. Guess I'll call a merc dealer and try to
get some info. Just about ready to let it covered for the winter but I'm at the
lake of the ozarks and I'm thinking this fall may be beautiful. If nothing else
I'll rent a boat a few hours for family and friends. Keep ya posted.

Re: 115 92 merc oil line

Greg,
I would go and spend 20 bucks or so the buy a compression gage.
I would think compression should be around 120-150 pre cylinder,
And not more than 5 lbs between each cylinder in the reading. As for the oil tank oil line, I can't scan in any pics for you. I pre mix my gas it's easy to do one and I don't have to worry about oiling my motors. I can't tell you what to do.I know I would do the compression check First then pre mix @ 50:1 in spare tank, run and fog the motor if all sounds good then maybe your ok as with all motors bearings do fail. By what you post said you could turn by hand was there any bending if not that's a good sign.
You can get a book for your motor for about 24 bucks online. I use seloc
and merc books .Merc books are pricey but you have what the dealers use.
Seloc books are filled with pics but cover more than just one motor. The only down side the there books as they are not as detailed to one motor As the merc books are.
As for the motor check this one out fully first unless you just want to have a spare sitting in the shop (I do) just in case you loose this one go for it. I would check the blue book for the price on it in your area ..That sounds a little high to me ....
keep me updated

The oil line should run from the bottom of the tank to the oil pump on the opposite side of the engine. There is a bleed screw on top of the pump. I'm not sure if you just loosen it or if you have to screw it completely out to bleed air out of the line. I don't have a picture, but maybe this drawing will help.
