looking at buying a yamaha 60 2 stroke 2003. never owned a yammy but i'm told they are the best. the 60 is no longer made and i can't find specs. what kind of speed would i get with it on a 16 foot aluminum boat. it has a 19 pitch prop.

That would be hard to tell, considering the style of the boat, all the weight of fuel, occupants, etc. My guess, not much more that 30 - 35. Congrats on the purchase. Make sure you check compression, pull the lower unit fill plug. Should be magnetic, check for metal shavings. Look for a good color to the oil, not milky. Should not be corroded inside the housing. The 60's are still being made as a F 60, 4 stroke.

Check out this test, should be your model...

I have had nothing but good things to say for the three Yamahas I have owned. They are stout and reliable!

found some tests on the yamaha website and specs. the 60 and 70 are the same engine. i wonder what the differance is between the two. the guy who has the motor took it the marine dealer shop and had it serviced. spark plugs, lower unit fluid, etc. they said it was in great shape.

That motor is worth between $2200 - $2500. That is average retail depending upon condition. Good luck, seems like you have checked things out good enough!
