Laddies

I checked the link that was sent to me, however, the parts that I am needing seems to be no longer available. I just can't accept that, there has to be after market somewhere.
Thanks

Sierra makes a wide variety of aftermarkets parts for your engine.
I've purchased coils off of eBay before for $5 a pop.

A friend of mine recently purchased a powerpack and coils for his outboard from O'Reillys Auto Parts.

mthieme and laddies

the coil part that I have is a yamaha part. My local mechanic seems to not want to work on the motor for various reasons but I can understand. He is saying that the motor is obsolete, maybe he is right.

The motor model is
Mariner 40BE

There's a lot of older motors than yours out there.
There could be things you've haven't told us, but with just that scrap of information - time to find another mechanic.
