Machine is a 1993 Yamaha WR500.
To winterize-
1. Add stabile to full tank of fuel
2. Run machine a few out of water to blow water out of exhaust
3. Spray fogging oil in carb

This is used in freash water only.

Anything I missed?
Thanks

I'm new to winterizing too, but I believe after you spray fogging oil into the carbs, you pull the spark plugs and give the cylinders a shot of fogging oil as well.

If you fog it properly while the engine is warm the fogging oil will coat the cylinder walls.

rndn is right. If you do it warm, the fogging oil will cover the cylinder walls.

I pull the plugs in mine and give them an extra shot. It won't hurt anything and is an extra step but still pretty quick to do and cheap extra insurance

Re: Quick winterization question

I have not fogged the engines, just put stabilizer in the gas, andused a shop vac to suck out water in the cooling lines. This year I shut the fuel off and ran the engines dry. Not sure if that will help anything or not. Other then that, I just stick 'em out back nose up. ( and plug the muffer with a rag to prevent mice from making a home in the exhaust)
