1968 18 HP Evinrude Fastwin ignition question?

Hi All.

I have an 68 model 18 HP Evinrude fastwin.

It has devoloped a ignition problem, where the number two cylinder misses.

I have changed the condensor/coil, high tension leads and plugs. However it still misses. I have put a timing light on to varify the miss.

Any suggestions? Much appreciated. It is becoming a very frustrating!

Hi Bren78,
Have you cleaned and gapped the points at .020"? Replace if pitted, otherwise a good dressing with a point file followed by cleaning with lacquer thinner or carb cleaner on an index card should get you going.
