j12 Carolina Skiff and 9.9

Hi all - I just acquired an Evinrude 9.9 and am looking at getting a 12' Carolina Skiff. I'm just wondering how that would move? I think they are rated at 15hp max. It will typically be 2 in the boat and I'd really like it to plane out. Anybody ever run this setup?

I think it would do well. My uncle has a fairly heavy old 14' aluminum that we just upgraded from my 4 to a newer Merc 9.9. It was planing and moving along really well with 3 adults in it. I was impressed.
