I've got a 1992 Johnson 150 that I have had two people attempt to repair. One was a Johnson dealer. My problem was the engine was going dead at idle speed. Now after the repairs, the engine is starving for fuel at full speed. If you pump bulb, it will pick up and go. Do I need to replace my VRO pump? If so, I don't use the oil injection, I mix oil & gas in the tank. Any way around the high price of a VRO pump?

Thanks very much,
Gary

Have you (or a tech) checked for air leaks? Did they run the pressure & vacuume tests?

There is a pump without the oil side but I sure wouldn't run that motor without oil injection. Especially if you're having fuel starvation issues. The oil injection is designed to sense a fuel pressure drop and will automatically pump more oil to (possibly) save the pistons from a lean condition. A new pump will be the OMS pump anyway.
