Hi Folks, I'm not sure where to post as a newbie but I'm looking to switch from a 40 hp johnson to a 40 hp mariner. They both have their own controls with them. What conversion issues am I looking at? Do they bolt up the same? I have not seen the mariner yet so obviousily we are in a process of checking things out right now. Does anyone have any warnings for me? The johnson is a '94 and the mariner is a '96. Thank you, Bill

I would think those motors will have the same mounting bolt pattern. Since you have controls for both, I would think the conversion should be uneventful. Get another fuel connector for the Mariner, and you should be good. You may need to drill new holes for the controls.
