I've never had an issue with this motor before and has always been properly maintained, each year.

The last time I took the boat out, I was full throttle across the lake. Usually it will run about 48 mph. Halfway across the water it sputtered a few times, then at full throttle only ran about 30mph. Motor never died, just ran rough, plus never had any trouble getting it to start either.

Now, the time before I took it out this trip, I got caught out in a huge thunderstorm with a lot of rain. I don't think water got into the fuel tank, but that is a possibility.

Anyone have any ideas as to what my issue could be?? Thanks in advance.

Water in the fuel is a good place to start. Change the water separating filter , drain it into a clear container and look for water. If you don't have one add one, every boat needs one and they are cheap.
