Ran boat today 78 115 johnson slow hole shot the motor act like it doesn't have full power, on take off. It will plane eventually, after planeing the boat surges Motor was missing check spark plugs for fire found one not fireing everytime, changed the one with no differents in idle. Also checked gas line for air leaks none found and install new gas pump ball. Im thinking power pack ?? I would appreciate anyones input on some possible direction.

if one is not firing all the time then it is probably worse under a load. Find out why.

i would check compression and spark on all 4. before i spend any money. if one plug is not firing, completely swap that coil with one you know is firing. if the problem stay at the plug, then find out why, if the problem moves with the coil, replace the coil.

Moved power pack around and the spark plug problem followed. Got new power pack and installed problem solve.
