Hi, my question is short and simple. How much gear oil should a 1983 japanese make mariner hold? I could only get about 12 or 13 ounces in it. That doesn't seem like very much. Is this normal? Thanks

Sounds about right for that size motor. As long as you filled from the bottom, and clean oil, free of air bubbles, was flowing out the upper (vent) hole, you're Good to Go...........ed
