Leaking Fuel Line Connector

Hi Folks,

My fuel line connector, on my 6 gallon Quicksilver plastic tank, is leaking where it screws into the tank. Should I use teflon tape (white or yellow) on this NPT fitting? Is there a better product to use? Thanks for all help.

I use pipe thread paste that is designated for use with fuel on the label. Maybe the tapes have the same info on the package? I don't know since I've never used the white tape on gasoline stuff. I have used it on propane fittings though.
