I just pulled the plug on the foot to drain gear lube, Found metal shavings on magnet, Lube solid Black, When i turn the prop you can hear something on the inside, is that normal???
Also when i put bottom plug back into and started putting new oil in the oil seemed not to take, it just kept coming out the hole and not going in the case.
The motor had sat up for ten years never been run since then, til a few months ago, should i get foot rebuilt??

Black oil is worn out. Some small metal fragments on the magnet are not a major concern when the oil has not been changed routinely, just build-up.

The oil must be drained completely with the engine in the running position, and you may need to turn the propeller occasionally to break air locks if the old oil is thick, especially in cold weather.

Once the oil is fully drained, leave both drain and fill plugs out and force the new oil into the case from the bottom (drain) hole until it runs out of the top hole. Replace the top (vent) plug first, then as quickly as possible replace the drain plug.

There is a good maintenance schedule on the BRP site that you can add to your service records:

BTW, Be sure to only remove the two large slotted screws.
