engine help 5.0 Lx

when i try to start my boat i get a grind noise, i replaced my starter and it still does it , the fly wheel looks fine, i took out a spark plug and water came out, so does this mean i have a crack some where

Pull all your spark plugs and crank the engine over until all the water is out. Then squirt some oil in there to inhibit rust.

Now you need to find out where it's leaking from.

I'd start by checking the exhaust manifolds and risers.

Did you recently overheat this engine? Even just a little?

DO NOT RESTART this engine.

Oil the cyl's to stop any further rusting.

Do a cyl leak down test. If poor then pull the heads.

You need to determine if you have a warped cyl head/blown head gasket, leaking exhaust manifolds, or leaking intake manifold gasket.
