70 stalls when advancing throttle in gear

I've read a few posts from those with similar symptoms and it seems the general concensus is a carb issue. My engine is a 1994 70 that will start and idle well, shift into gear fine, however when the throttle is advanced in gear the motor bogs and sometimes dies. If I put it in neutral and rev it up it clears out and then it will throttle up in gear just fine. The motor runs well at any RPM, although it will cut out after idling for 5-10 minutes of trolling. This problem is very consistent and it always seems to start up and runs well after it gets cleared out. Any ideas?

i would clean the carbs and do a decarb on the engine.

there are step by step instructions for both in the faqs

These was what my Merc 35 did when it needed a fuel pump diaphram.
