I just finished changing the shift shaft and now I have a extra hose! I have a oil and I believe water line going to each cylinder by the carb. But then I have 1 hose in the middle on the bottom - dont know where it goes? its a small rubber hose - same size as the water lines. Suggestions?

Could it the water hose for the speedo?

hmm could be - but this comes out of the intake manifold - in the middle at the bottom. I thought the speedo line came from the lower unit somewhere.

found it! plugs into a nipple on the air cover. Dang manual its 630 pages!

Did you remove the powerhead for the shift shaft or the carbs intake manifold?
Just curious. Bingo on the hose you beat me to it.
