Here we go again.
It's still a few days out, but it's not looking so good for Texas.
I'm going to say landfall will be near Galveston. What say you?

I beieve the forecasters have a big wheel like on "Wheel of Fortune" with states and city names on the wheel. Every hour, one of them spins the wheel and that's the latest prediction of landfall.

The 5 day forcast up at the National Weather Center at the moment has it going to Corpus Christi. It seems to be moving further and further SW as time goes on, so it just may end up in Mexico.

Its a hard thing to wish a storm like this on another region, but I'm just glad that it looks like it isn't going to head for Louisiana for a "one-two punch."

Somewhere between Florida and Texas.

Those computer models have been off pretty much the entire track.

When it gets into the gulf, they will get more accurate.

Looks like we will be lucky once again. I feel for anyone it Ike's path, it'll be a large and very powerful storm as it moves across the Gulf of Mexico.

I don't think it'll it the US. Like was said above, the track has been pushed further sw since IKE was born. I'm glad it's headed away from the oil rigs.

It all depends on the current high pressure. If it stays in place and remains strong, it might head into Mexico. We have to watch this closley over the next few days. If it does stay in place, then the storm should move quickly across the Gulf and into lower Texas or Mexico, if not, we're in trouble.

I dunno- the latest forecast seems to suggest the track possibly curling a bit north again, so we'll see. At least the Texas coast has had plenty of time to prepare.

we just got hit from gustav,probaly between the louisiana border and texas
we are expecting some high winds ,good luck to all i went 8 days without power last week ,and there for awhile it looked like we were going to take another hit ,i hope everyone treats werever it hits as good as they did louisiana
