Not sure about shore...

I dropped off my boat at the marina this weekend. I have shore power available. Question....I want to hook up to shore power to help keep my batteries charged...am I suppose to switch the battery 1-2-Both switch to "both" for a trickle charge? or does the "off" position still lets the batteries charge?

That depends on how your charger is connected. If its connected at the switch, it works just like the alternator would (1, 2, both or off). If its connected to the batteries, it doesn't matter where the switch is set. If it's a single output charger, it is probably connected to the COM terminal on the switch. If that's the case, you need to set the switch to BOTH to charge both.
