Shift bellows leak

I just noticed today my shift bellows is split in two. I imagine this will let water into the boat.

How severe of a leak will this cause? Just wondering if it's a "must fix now" item or you can live with it for a while.

Thanks

Sorry, it's a 'must fix now' issue.... It will sink your boat, or the water will get into areas that will cost you a bomb later....

Well son of a gun! No wonder the previous owner said to run the bilge every 30 minutes or so. :(

Guess the parts aren't so costly it's just more time spent wrenching. I probably better do it now since the lower unit is already off.

Re: Shift bellows leak

My plan is to do all the bellows while I have the chance. How difficult is this job?

If you have the manual, it's not too bad. Without the book, forget it!

Post here when you get stuck :D

Thanks Chris! If I can get this work done she should be seaworthy.
