Question timing on 1982 mariner 70

i just pulled the flywheel and replaced the stator on an 82 mariner 70hp, does anyone know if i have to adjust timing at this point or should it still be timed correctly since the flywheel has a keyway that it slides on. thanks in advance for the help.

You should invest in a manual for your motor. It will tell you everything you need to know with some pictures to help.

I think racerdonnie13 has an investment in the engine manual publishing business because he gave me the answer for my question!

The following is info that I got from Laddies

Just roll the #1 cyl. to TDC and install the flywheel to TDC (0 degrees) on the mark
