New water pump...

I just had the water pump replaced on my 1978 Merc 800 and things at first looked fine... tattle tale was a nice strong stream. However, after just 4 hrs of running the stream went down to just a dribble. the pump was changed by a mechanic... is it possible I just have something plugging up the outlet? Will it hurt anything to use high pressure air to blow back up the hole?

Thanx,
Crunch

you took it in had it replaced, I would take it back to the same guy and see what he will do for you. If you touch it he will not cover it. take it back first.

Thanx Steve.... won't touch the pump unless he won't fix it, but if it's just a piece of crap in the hole, and I can just blow it out.... I can go boating this weekend :D

Those telltales clog up easily. Remove the wrap cowling and pull the telltale hose off the head and blow it out.
