2001 yamaha 115. During takeoff there is a dead spot in acceleration. Will plain off but is running approximately 10 mph slower at top end. Still turning good RPM's. Any suggestions on where to start?

don't quite understand how RPM can be OK/same, but has a lower top speed, but anyhow, a dead spot can be as simple as a setup "link and sync" or a Carby problem, probably best to do the easiest link and sync first up, rather than do the harder things first!

Spun Prop? Fuel delivery problem? Not enough info.
