I received a 25 hp long shaft two stroke and can only use a short shaft on my boat. There is no removal midsection piece, just solid midsection and lower unit. Has anybody ever done this on this or a comparable motor and if so, is there anywhere I can get these parts? Any opinions?

probably gonna have to find a burnt up short shaft and swap out the powerheads, hard to find...

i have done the reverse to a 25hp (short shaft to long shaft)
all you need is the gearbox and mid section with shift rod and shaft.
Be prepared to cut the top rubber mount in the midsection to get it out due to seized bolts....and then purchase a new one.
