Generally speaking, should a 'toon sit fairly level at dock with no extraneous load?

Re: Level ?

Seen very few that sat level both ways. port/stbd yes, front to rear pretty rare.

Alot of boats have gas tanks on one side and that will make that corner squat more.

Most pontoons have half the weight of the boat on the last 3' of the boat, battery, motor, gas and there is generally more furniture in back too.

What is yours doing that made you ask?

Re: Level ?

My neighbors 'toon sits lower in the rear. I thought I remembered it sitting more level. Underway she levels out (w/o a load). Probably just me...that's why I asked. Thanks for setting me straight.

Re: Level ?

If he is worried about a leak have him mark the tube and see if it sets lower in a couple days, that would indicate a leak.

I have "fixxed" alot of boats over the years that the owners were convinced the tubes leak and it turns out to be the just the gas tank, they filled up and noticed one tube sat lower than the other.
