water pump keeps burning the spacer into the water pump housing/it is getting hot for a reason? this was a new water pump kit not going to replace until i can fix. part kit 387362

You are assembling it incorrectly perhaps.

The spacer goes under the cup, which is open at the top.

The impeller goes into the cup, the plate goes on the top and the pump body goes on top of that.
