Merc 850 starter removal procedure

I have the Seloc manual, but since it covers many models and years, I don't see a tear down procedure anywhere (just generalizations) showing how to remove the starter. In fact I'm working on my "parts" Merc 850 first. I remove all bolts that seem to be associated, and I realize there's some sort of "L" fitting at the top, but to remove anymore bolts and/or fittings looks like I'd be taking apart the power head!

Anything posted on-line or anything like that?
Thanks

Mine is a mid 70's 4 cyclinder. Since I'm in Ontario, usual s/n info might not place the year exactly. And I bought it few years ago as a bit of a FrankenMerc, so some parts might be from "similar" years. Ran great for awhile, and she's still very promising, just have a couple issues i need to address.
