I am new to outboards and am the proud owner of a 1948 Evinrude Sportwin 3.3hp. She runs beautifully, but the washer/seal that goes around the plunger and against the carb. is old, hard, and not sealing off the fuel. I have two hurdles...#1 I can't get the pin out of the primer button to be able to get to the washer...and #2 I don't know where to get a replacement washer and seal (I have the original part numbers)...I may also need to replace or make my own primer button if I can't get the pin out and end up having to cut it off. I'd love any advice on the removal of the button and a source to match up old parts...Thank you!!

Hi zulla,
Sorry to see that you do not have any replys to your question. I just removed the push button primer button from my 3.3 by tapping it out while supporting the opposide with a small piece of wood. Keep track of the layup of the washers and spring arrangement. Good luck on a new washer, I have heard that the part is unavailable.
