plugs for 67 20 hp chrysler

Well took my free 20 hp chrysler (67) for a spin today ,all went well till the top plug blew out.No problem thats what they make helicoils for.Anyways what plugs should i be using ,it had j4c in it or should i go to j6c or ?Will have to order a manual ,What a great little motor, i was going so slow the walley were passing me!lol.

Original plug was a J4J which was superseded by a J4C which is still available. I would stick with that. Most chryslers used a L4J however the 20 hp series 2000 was spec with a J4J. If it has been working good so far stay with it. If you go to a J6C you may be using a hotter plug which could be a problem

Ok thanks ,will stick with the original plug then.Nice quite little motor,doesnt look near as good as my 18 (58)johnson does but it is funky,lol.
