Hello forum,
I installed a couple of the new calcium batteries in the boat about a year ago. They have been great, but now I have a problem and I'm wondering if anyone has had the same or can shed some light on it for me.
I have a dual battery set up with just a simple 0, 1, 2, 1+2 battery switch. Due to a faulty switch battery A was drained down a bit. Not completely flat, enough power to still drive the trim pump ok, but not enough to crank the engine. Battery B was still fine and full.
Yesterday we went out and I noticed that battery A wasn't charging, so with the engine running I turned the switch (ensuring I was NOT going though the 0 position) to battery A only and ran for about half an hour. Still not charging. I checked the alternator output, fine at 14.2 volts. Battery B was charged fully and keep us going for the day.
It there something special about how these new batteries need to be charged or do I have a faulty one?
Thanks for the help,
Chris..............
