Default Bow mount Minn Kota

I have a bow mount Minn Kota Edge 40lb thrust. Took it out on the lake, everything worked fine for about 5 minutes on Constant troll. I switched it over to Momentarily and nothing happened. After messing around with the foot control for about the 30 minutes it came back on just laying there for about 2 minutes and then stopped again. Could this be a short in a wire or be a problem with the foot control switch?

It could be the circuit breaker at the battery is tripping because the motor is drawing too much current. Need to know what size breaker is being used. (Should be 40A - 50A.) Remove the prop and check for fish line wrapped tightly around the shaft causing drag. Rotate the prop manually to see if the bearings are tight. Wiring may be too small which heats up and causes high current draw. Motor may be going bad. Cycle the momentary/continuous switch several times as the internal contacts may be slightly corroded.

The battery I'm using is a Energize Deep Cycle Marine battery. The only corrosion I found was a little on two screws under the foot control where the switch is for the momentarily switch. I couldn't find where it had listed as a 40A or 50A.

The foot switch is not labeled 40A or 50A. There should be a circuit breaker connected to the positive terminal of the battery. That breaker is generally a manual or automatic reset breaker that kills power to the circuit in the event of an overload.
